This evening we set Marcus Scott-Taggart the unenviable task of choosing the print of the year from such an array of entries that a lesser man would have surely despaired. How do you judge wildlife shots versus architectural record? Portraits versus graphical creations?
Fortunately for us, Marcus was able to bring his vast experience to bear and gave an insightful view on all the photographs we presented him with - though it was clearly a challenge to choose his favourites.
We've already seen many of the pictures in previous competitions this season so it was especially interesting to hear a "second opinion" on them and a reminder that judging is as much about personal preference as it is about a technical evaluation of the work.
Look to the winners page for the results of this evening's competition and to Flickr or Beauty in Everything to see the amazing range of Marus Scott-Taggart's own work.
